Finding Great New Stuff at the NYC Gift Fair

This week, Ella&Boss‘ intrepid leader, Pam, trekked up to the Big Apple for this year’s New York International Gift Fair. For those of you who aren’t familiar, the NYIGF is an annual event where vendors, manufacturers and designers from around the world come together to showcase their latest, most creative, most innovative products and ideas. Needless to say, it’s kind of a big deal, and we’re thrilled to report that Pam found some pretty amazing stuff! Check this out:
This is a beautiful line from Mexico called Model Metalworks. All their products are handmade by local artisans, using 100% sustainable, natural materials. Those lovely, intricately woven baskets and trays? Made completely from pine needles, salvaged from the forest floor! How cool is that? Also, their metal pieces are made using a technique passed down through the ages called “sandcasting.” Basically, the pieces are made in a mold and then packed with sand while they cool. In the end, the pieces shine like silver, but require no polishing! But I think the coolest part is this from the Model Metalworks website:
