Our Favorite Things: The Pink Super Stepper by Tomboy Tools

Greetings and salutations, everyone! Resident male here once again, offering up a friendly, hopefully helpful reminder that, as of today, you officially have T-minus 6 days and counting until you have to deal with your VD.

And by that, I, of course, mean Valentine’s Day.

Do you hear that? I believe it’s the collective groan of a nation, because as we all know, coupled and single alike, V-Day can be one of the most unnecessarily stressful days of the year. There are just so many dumb things to think about, like which cheesy bouquet and Hallmark combo best expresses, “No, this isn’t jewelry, but I still wuv you forever and ever, my wittle Smoochy-kins!”? Or where can I get a last minute dinner reservation that doesn’t involve an Arby’s drive-thru? Or is this the night we actually have to have a conversation about whatever it is that’s going on here? And, my personal favorite: which flavor of Ben and Jerry’s best expresses to the bodega cashier, “Yes, I’m wearing sweatpants. Yes, I’m getting ready for a long, lonely night of ‘House’ reruns. And, yes, I’m LOVING IT!”?

But just ignore me. I’m a crusty, cynical old curmudgeon. Lord knows, when there’s a special little lovemuffin in your life, Valentine’s Day can be pretty alright, and I suppose it’s as good an excuse as any to show all the folks you love how much they mean to you. But come on, people! Let’s do something cool, not corny, for our loved ones this year. No chalky candy hearts! Put that nasty half-melted chocolate in the trash! Leave that complicated, unflattering underwear in the drawer, and, for the love of God, let someone else’s tacky, gaudy kiss begin with Kay! This year, how about picking up something cute, cool and bloody useful for yourself or your favorite ladyfriend, like this week’s Favorite Thing! Ladies and gents, with great relish, may I present:

Since 2000, Tomboy Tools’ mission has been to encourage women all over the world to take on do-it-yourself projects, and to provide them with a hands-on education, high quality tools and a fun way to make a living from home. This deluxe toolbox comes with:

– Combo Toolbox/Step Stool
– 13 oz. Magnetic Head Hammer
– 25′ Fractional Measuring Tape
– Multi-Bit Ratchet Screwdriver
– Standard Pliers
– Long Nose Pliers
– Mini Hacksaw
– Quick Changing Utility Knife
– Torpedo Level
– Pry Bar
– Sanding Block
– Canvas Tool Apron
– Picture Hanging Set
– Knee Pads
– Rubber-Grip Gloves
– Anti-Fog Safety Glasses
– Ear Plugs
– Carpenter’s Pencil

Fabulous, right? But don’t just take my word for it. Our very own Lieutenant Princess has this very same toolbox at home, and she loves it. Here are some close-ups of her set:

Not only are all these tools pretty cute, but Lindsay can personally attest that they’re also really well made. The magnetic hammerhead makes you feel like a professional carpenter, but her favorite is probably the woefully under-appreciated level, which is so important when it comes to hanging art. Basically, the Super Stepper comes with pretty much every tool you could ever possibly need for any do-it-yourself project you could imagine. Even knee pads! Which… no comment.

Now go out there and love somebody! Until next time!
