Our Favorite Things: Star on Star Mirror by JM Piers

Morning, everybody! Welcome back to Ella&Blog! Resident male here as always. Well, it’s another gloomy gray one here in DC. Sigh… I swear Phil better see his shadow tomorrow, or I might lose it, amirite folks? I was just in Richmond, VA this past weekend (which has got to be one of the most architecturally beautiful cities in the world, btw), and it was 55 and sunny all weekend. It’s only TWO HOURS AWAY! How is that possible? No fair! But I suppose those of us here in winter wonderland will just have to make do somehow. Go bundle up in our cute sweaters, and gulp down delicious soups, or something. And, of course, remember that it’s not like we’re in upstate New York or something. To wit: current conditions in Buffalo…

You all have my sympathies! I’ll stop whining. I promise.

So how should we inject a little sunshine into today’s proceedings? Go to my embarrassing new happy place, perhaps? No? Understood. So how about one of our favorite things? OK! That’s the spirit! So here we go! Ladies and germs, may I introduce you to:

Filling an empty space on a big wall is sometimes a really difficult thing to do. Do you go with artwork, like a painting? Sure, but it can take some time to find a piece you like in the right size or the right color that doesn’t cost a billion dollars. And while your particular Resident Male might suggest that vintage Robocop poster he’s been saving since he was thirteen, that might not be the way you want to go either. One easier solution we often offer to our clients is a large mirror. Not only do you fill up that real estate with something big and beautiful, but it often (and this really comes in handy in smaller rooms) tricks your eye into thinking that your space is bigger than it really is. One the most stunningly gorgeous mirrors we’ve seen in a while is this Star on Star Mirror from North Carolina’s own JM Piers. If you’re looking for a big, bold, and fun statement piece, this is the mirror for you. It’s a true original. Now, it may look like something a little kitschy to some of you, but don’t be fooled. The level of detail, from the distressed wood frame to the expertly antiqued mirror, elevates this piece to something really special and fresh. We’ve got it hanging in our office currently, and it’s always a showstopper. It just has this nasty habit of making people stop in their tracks to ooh and ahhh. Plus, at 46″ wide, it’ll solve any wall space problems in a jiff!

If you’re interested in more info on this or anything else we’ve mentioned, as always please don’t hesitate to drop us a line. Until next time, stay warm!!!
